So I would never have guessed that is was Friday 13th as I was way too excited about the evening ahead of me. But I could never have imagined what was to come.
It was my first time at the O2 as I hadn’t been since it was the Millennium Dome all those years ago. I arrived at the o2 around 5.30, and I was blown away by the size of it.
We were all shown upstairs at around 7.30 where we were all offered free drinks. Then we were shown into the room where the show was taking place. I took my seat at one of the 5 round tables.
After a sadly cut short performance from Dominick it was time for Jamie.
Jamie’s performance was amazing and completely blew me away as usual. It was fantastic to see Jamie back up there on stage again.
His unique version of Rhianna’s “Please Don’t Stop The Music” was brilliant, I loved the arrangement.
I loved “Get Your Way” and it didn’t matter that Jamie forgot the words, he recovered it very well.
“So They Say” the new track more up tempo, and I would say sounds more pop but still with a jazz twist. Jamie has clearly been working hard on his new sound and this showed as it sounded amazing.
“Gran Torino” – This was the first time I had heard this song live and I loved it. I completely melted, it was sung so beautifully.
“Mix Tape” – This was my favourite new song, a much fuller sound. Jamie said it was a fun song to play and I was totally caught up in it, like Winnie says it was like being taken on a journey.
“These Are The Days”– I loved it when we all joined in.
And when Jeff Beck joined Jamie on stage the calibration was brilliant, and you could tell that Jamie was in his element up there. Jeff is such a talented guitarist.
“Mind Trick” – This was our chance to get up on our feet and dance!!!!
“I’ve Got You Under My Skin” – it was lovely to hear Jamie do this song as his encore all by himself on stage.
An outstanding performance from Jamie instilling a memory of a night that I will remember forever.
