Amazing show!

Jamie and the band put on an amazing show, full of energy and fabulous music! I got there early enough to be in the front row, left side, right in front of the piano. The crowd around me were amazing, everyone was singing along and enjoying the awesome music.
I was also lucky enough to meet Jamie before the show in front of the club. He was so... nice/normal/sweet. What a great guy. I uploaded some of my photos, hopefully they'll be put up on this page. Can't wait until he returns to the Bay Area in July - I'll definitely be there!
I am short. Being short isn’t a good thing in a standing room full of people over 5’2 – especially if you’re drowning in the midst of them, peeking through raised hands and swaying bodies for a precious glimpse of the main attraction, Jamie Cullum. I thought I had a good view until the Talls slowly moved in and a man sensing my plight from behind placed his hand on my shoulder and regretfully said, “It’s genetics”. Oh, screw the Tall gene, I thought. After forty-five minutes of dodging flailing arms, neck straining, and tip-toeing my friend managed to create a small clearing where I was able to see the entire band. “I can see! I can finally see!” I exclaimed. “Heck, I can even read what’s on Jamie’s shirt!” I savored the visual stimuli as much as I could, thinking that where I stood was the best it was going to be – until Mr. Cullum made a gesture for the audience to part down the middle, and with his entourage in tow, made his way toward the center of the floor to play an intimate rendition of Cry Me a River. Whoa. It got even better when he announced for those who are short to come to the front. “He’s summoning your people,” my friend said. “And so he is!” And with that, I proudly elbowed my way to my rightful place and got THE best view EVER of an incredible, soul stirring performance. *sigh* That night, it felt so good to be short!
After seeing Jamie at the Paramount (Oakland) and Hollywood Bowl, this is the best one to date. His performances never disappoint and it couldn't get any better than having him at the legendary Fillmore. What a great and memorable show (and I've seen my share of jazz/pop/R&B legends there), and the latest CD is great. Maybe next time, an even more intimate show at Yoshi's?
Imelda May was terrific too. Not a rockabilly fan, but she's more than that. Next day, I went to Amazon to order her debut CD. Thanks for having her on the tour.
I know what you mean about wanting to meet him, I waited after the Chicago show but he never came out, I have talked to people who have met him says he is really nice, he is so talented just want to say I met him before
he to big and his fans are out of luck.
