How To Post A Picture

From Your Profile

1- click on MY CONTROLS
2- on the left bar click on CHANGE PERSONAL PHOTO
3- click BROWSE
4- select your picture for your computer - make sure it's smaller than 100kb
5- click OK
6- click UPDATE PHOTO
7- still on my controls - on top you'll see Hello, yourname (Log Out) click your name
8- the url (address on top) will show a number at the end like this: showuser=1234
9- take a note of that number
10- now create a new post on a thread (no need to explain I hope)
11- click the IMG button on top of the box where you type your text
12- on the window that pops up type:

where 1234 is your own number you took note of on step 9.
13- post your thread by hitting "add reply" or to see if the picture works before posting it, click on "preview post"

From a picture hosting website

If you want to post pics that you don't want to upload first, host them on www.imageshack.us or www.photobucket.com (or any other hosting site for that matter), copy the URL and follow steps 10 through to 12 as described above and hit post! Please make sure the pics are not too big. www.imageshack.us works with clickable thumbnails, and they rule!

When you post a picture, make sure it fits on the page, so not too big, as it will slow down people's connection, especially those on dial-up. If you want to post a large photo, please post a link to the hosting site.

Imageshack now has a feature for re-sizing pics for forum/message board sizes... just check the right option in the drop-down box when you upload the pic... this is highlighted in the pic below... if you feel this is still too big, there are other options available.



You can also post clickable thumbnails from photobucket. Here's how you do it.

1. Select the photo(s) you want to post by checking the box next to the name
2. Scroll down and click on "Generate HTML and IMG code"
3. On the page it takes you to, look for "IMG clickable thumbnails for message boards." Highlight the text in there and press Ctrl-C to copy it. It will look like this:

4. Paste this into your PN post and it will look like this. You can click on it to see it larger size.
