am i the only person on here who despises all public holidays? not to mention fireworks! GRRRR they do my head in.
i know i am the forum scrooge as i have expressed my hate for both halloween and xmas so far but guy fawkes night is even worse! and don't even get me started on the feeble attempts i've seen at "penny for the guy" in my day.............

well where i live in london there are hardly any fireworks on bonfire night but when its diwali................OMG! bare fireworks!.........

Fireworks are the greatest...We had them over the harbour in Wellington last night...I missed them as I was getting ready to PARTY....but Rob ran up the road and cought some threough the buildings...apparently they were amazing....

What are your reasons for not liking Christmas, Halloween and guy fawkes night? Did you never trick or treat...do you not like getting Christmas presents...do fireworks not make you go "ahhhh" and "wooooow"?

I LOVE FIREWORKS! they are soo pretty! i think im making up for lost time( still acting likea kid when i see them i mean) i hated them when i was litle up until i was 8 ish?

Fireworks are nice...dont see them too often..but I prefer Champagne corks
and btw..I LOVE public holidays..my work has this agreement that casuals dont have to work them..so I can sleep in!!

i don't like halloween because it's an excuse for kids to terrorise their local neighbour hood for two weeks and get away with it.
and they're cheeky sods too, i mean i'm not so tight as to sit in my house with the lights off, i give them stuff if they have a decent attempt. but i refuse to give anyone over the age of 12 anything because they are begging really.
where was i? oh yeah cheeky sods! i went to the door with sweets etc.. and this little lad said "ahhh can't we have money" EXCUSE ME? does you're mother know you're begging from the neighbours? thats just not right!
the fact that the majority of people don't even know the history of halloween just narks me. oh and its just one big money making scheme the same as valentines day.

christmas: yeah i do like christmas but not because i get presents! because its family time and thats nice and because there's this nice air at christmas and seeing a child's face on christmas morning is great.
but since i come from a split family and i am the last of the children in my family it becomes somewhat of an emotional rollcoaster between xmas and new year bobbing between families. hence my dislike. also talking abuot xmas in october just annoys me, its not for ages so why think about?
erm i think thats all i can say about xmas apart from it being another big corporate money making event.

and for guy fawkes, i LOVE it, i used to go to a fireworks display every year and have the most amazing memories. but i don't actually like fireworks, they are too loud and i don't like loud bangs!
alsoi had a few too many bad experiences with them so i just don't like them. and penny for the guy? *HAH*
the attempts i've seen over the pst few days are laughable. literally groupd of 12 year old lads with one sitting still on the floor with a mask on, and they call that panny for the guy? to me it jsut consitutes begging.

I disagree, todays youth are a frank disgrace... Well, those under the ages of 2 years anyway, can't even clean up after themselves! Bah, children, waste of space I say!
