Get yourselves over to google idol and check out the competition we're running there. We want you to make your own videos for photograph - be creative, do whatever you like, anything goes. We've put up a pretty snazzy prize and hopefully this whole thing will be a lot of fun.

I don't think I'll make a video,but I'm sure there are some brave enough folks to do that!

Precisely, small must have been. Even though I didn't noticed. Too bad I deleted it already.

The deadline for entries passed yesterday. So it is one week untill the winner is voted.

Don't know if any of you has taken the time to watch the entires. Watched them all yesterday (there is only so much wall staring one can do when you're told to keep rest) and it was rather entertaining.
I am not a member of the whole google idol thing but I am curious to see who will win. Some interesting entries. I do wonder what the aim was to get great videos with a cool story or to get people to lipsync the song in a webcam.
I always thought it was the latter but the first category seems to have produced the best video in my opinion.

Ow and I saw some familiar names on there! Do come and tell about your entries people!

 I've joined the competition for JC's Photograph Music Video
and let me tell you it was hard to make a video in a limited period of
time. I should have planned it out better. Oh well, at least my friends
and I have a nice little video momento of our night out in the City [San Francisco].

Let me give you a little bit of the video's background...

The 'guy' [who's played by my fiance] looks through a photo album and
begins to reminisce about his past and daydreams. Cut to - a wave of
tall grass/grains [De Young Museum], couples at Golden Gate Park [I
felt like such a voyeur shooting this], kids feeding squirrels [weird,
I thought], and a group of people on big 4-wheelers zipping through the
park. This part is suppose to have the dream-like effect but
compressing it just made the video fuzzy.

Then, the
'guy' remembers the little things he passes by each day in greater
detail - the details on the Emporium dome, the atmosphere of a busy
street, cool outdoor music, the bus, and funny cars. The times he hangs
out with his friends at the pub. I thought it was also cute when Kris
[in the green shirt] looks at the camera, right after Jamie sings, "I think I look a little green."
Mind you, I told him and everyone else to not look at the camera. Right
after, someone actually was so drunk and knocks a pint over onto the
floor. Party foul!

Later on we got hungry after all of
that drinking - we were at a pub crawl after all - and it's some
woman's birthday and some random guys were singing 'Happy Birthday' to
her and pointing to her head at the same time <shrugs>.
It was a bit dark inside and seems even darker since the compression,
sorry about that. But we're eating and drinking, then, my friend, Mark
thinks it'd be funny to pretend to drink two beers...as you can see he
spills it on his lap instead. My fiance [in the glasses] cracks up
after, he's obviously drunk too.

My friend, Fil passes around his fancy cigarettes [SMOKING is BAD!]
to show us that it's not a trick pack. It's not apparent, but he does a
little magic making his fancy cigs appear and disappear. Fil does
another 'faux' magic trick by pretending to make his finger tips appear
and disappear. I swear it was funny at the time.

Towards the end, my friend, Gladys takes some photos of us [I did not
put her up to this] and I thought it was a cute segue to the photos
taken of ourselves that night, which follow that clip. And it ends with
the 'guy' taking one last look at the photos and closes the album.

Both. We wanted it to be as open as possible.

All the entries we've had are really good. Everyone who entered did a great job. I have a couple of favourites - I'm not going to say which ones until the voting is over though. I really like the first one... it reminds me of Schoolhouse Rock.  Bob Dorough will be so pleased!

I've the first video in the second row, the one that has a picture of a birthday cake; short synopsis is that it's in tribute to my brother and then near the end I realize that my life was far richer with him in it  - and the end is ambiguous.

My brother is alive, but he did approve the video and the fact that I was pretending he was dead. I just thought it was a good concept...

Well, I also entered the competition.
Unfortunately I missed it anyway writing here something about my video [] *grmbl*. Okay, okay I know it's a little bit late, but better than nothing. []
So this was my first video ever, and I had a lot of fun doing it. Actually I had no real story I just used the lyrics from Photograph for my script. At the start I had some problems to find the actors for my video. I even asked boys from the street to be "My Jamie Cullum" [] .
Then there was a scene I enjoyed very much, it's the one from the top of shopping mall (btw i think it was illegal [ph34r] ). I was there with my best friend and we talked a lot an watched down to our town in a totally new view, and the time passed by... We had a really good time.
And the "memory" - scenes were filmed in our city park. But exact at the day we wanted to shoot the video, it rained extremely... Felt like a bad sign [lol] But we stand it through and after few hours it was done. I was/am worried that people who don't know the song, wouldn't understand what I tried to picture. But I'm sure all PNers do []

But that video means a lot for me, mainly because Jamie became so important to me and I get some great experiences. Now I showed my teacher the video and he thinks I have some good skills. Now he wants that I do it more professional. So Jamie again changed my life []
It wasn't so important for me to win (omg, sounds like I want to be a good loser. [lol] I STILL want the concert tickets [] )... Rather I wanted to try something new and give Jamie something back.

My favourite became 2nd. Dunno if you can still watch them if so I'd like to point out the boy who became 5th he also did a bit of Geoff and Seb in his video, it is very entertaining.

That was my favorite too, and it wasn't until the last day that Microbefox rose from second to first. It actually looked like there was some pretty blatant cheating going on near the end; the guy who ended up sixth rose from a 3.11 to a 4.25 in one day while everyone else dropped at least a half a point. Dunno how it could be a coincidence.

Oh, well, I finished thirteenth, but it was fun to make the video anyway!

before this, the same guy had 7.something while everybody's rating when drastically down [there were about 40 accounts created to vote 10 for his video and 1 for the rest]. the admin took care of that, but  still, i think that the guy did the same thing again. they should have just deleted his video from the competition in the first place.

well. i didn't really like the one in 2nd place. for me it was too literal. i mean, it was ok, it just wasn't my favourite.

I must admit I didn't watch every single video, just a few.[ph34r] About the one I liked, I liked it because it was fiction and something everyone could relate to. I think the video that won is very personal, and I must add that I definitely did not like the fact that someone else was "singing" whit Jamie's voice [].

Just my personal opinion.

Your vid came 12th, right? I loved that one!!! Yours and the one on 2nd place was my favourites!!! Really good work! [] I'm a little bit disappointed your vid didn't get higher rank... []
