Ok...so I've searched and read up on the rules and there doesnt seem to be a problem with me starting this thread...but if any of the admin do then i understand...but i thought i would open this thread for a places for us 'fishies' (as my friend so loving puts me) to talk about things...

like for example if anybody is going to soul suivour or keswick this year??

PLEASE NOTE: i did not opent this thread for there to be a dispute over 'how wrong the christain faith is' etc
Miss Dissy
i'm going to firestarter and SUBM as usual but not soul survivor this year
jazzo
This looked familiar, so I searched and found a similar thread here. Not objecting, just informing.
luv_u_Jamie
Can't see any reason why anyone should object to your thread !! wink.gif
*SuGaR pLuM*

hope this thread can be a nice place for discussion of mutually interesting things, and not turn into a fight (like the 'is anyone religious' one did a while back...) unsure.gif

I'm probably showing my age again when I ask... any of you know Why? or Eden Burning unsure.gif ? (They both split up a good while back, but were great!) just realised that I've only got Eden Burning's stuff on cassette ph34r.gif they saw me through my teens anyway! oooo, what about Fat and Frantic?

sorry, I think there is another thread on Christian bands, but if this is going to be a general chat thread, then it's probably ok here too unsure.gif

p.s. I'm not really that old! Same age as Jamie ph34r.gif
*SuGaR pLuM*

JamiesAngel
Hello everyone, im a christian, but i think everyone knew that.

not going to any christian dos, but went to the Trumpet Call II, theres another one in october at the NEC, Birmingham, would encourage anyone to go to it.

I have heard of Delerious i think, or at least one christian rock band, they were more like heavy metal, anyone ever thought of sending a track to Jamie, just to inform his musical understanding........ just a thought.

so which was it JA?! Delirious, or some other band?! laugh.gif
Delirious have gone through 'heavier' and 'softer' phases... I don't really know what they're like at the moment as I haven't bought their last couple of albums... I still think King of Fools rocks! I also have their early stuff, recorded as Cutting Edge. I expect you know more of their songs than you realise JA - a lot are sung in churches now (all over the world too! I've sung their songs in Spanish and French too blink.gif a very odd experience!!)

FB, all i know is that my friend played it once, it sounded more like Iron maiden to me laugh.gif it was really heavy, got on my nerves a bit. maybe you could let me know what songs are sung in church, my church is pretty modern, but heavy metal is taking the biscuit..................

I've met Martyn Joseph and gone to several meetings with Graham Kendrick, but Trumpet call had Lawerence somebody and Godfry somebody, sorry, wasnt listening to the names.

Oh, can i add my thanks for this thread, i think a place for like minded people living this belief system is great, lets just agree to keep demoniational differences out of it, hey?

it's more their early stuff, but to name but a few:
Lord you have my heart, i could sing of your love forever (over the mountains and the seas), did you feel the mountains tremble, thank you for saving me, shout to the north, what a friend I've found... wink.gif

ring any bells?

I've just looked them up on the internet and you can listen to clips here - click on the album, then the track listings come up. Most of the ones I've just listed come from the Cutting Edge albums.

Eden Burning

you can download their stuff off there

i listened and i like it

very cool

as for delirious, i think World Service is the best album to date, and Majesty is the most powerful song i've ever experienced live

mercy for those who we have lost,
peace for those who grieve,
healing for those who are hurt,
strenght for the emergency services,
wisdom for those in charge,
justice for the perpetrators,
peace within this world.

Yer well, as an atheist, here's my opinion on things...

Donnie Brasco

Is that not a slight contradiction? You don't believe God, but you believe humanity killed the son of God?
markmorris

no its a joke
Donnie Brasco
I apologise on behalf of my sense of humour. wink.gif

So the fictional character would kick the ass of someone non-fictional?
Is this another one of your "jokes"?
My sense of humour waits on tenderhooks for your answer.
markmorris
No... I seen the movies and personally, I think Jake Gyllenhaal could beat the shit out of Johnny Depp.

and how can you be waiting on tenderhooks? TENTerhooks, looks like I could kick your ass in a spelling B

No you can go and die.

Sorry mark, my sense of humour can't think of anything witty enough to come back to that, so i'll leave it there i think.

Do you need a hug? wink.gif
