Any one watching the second series? Can't say that I really noticed him much last time, but how nice is Brendan!!
Loving the muscle tone, musicality and humility - not a trait you tend to see in this kind of dancing. Found myself rather wanting to be in Sarah Manners' shoes... Feel this might be another first-series-of-Fame-Academy-type obsession. What is it about these artistic reality TV shows?

Sorry! Posted totally in the wrong place - thought I was in Ain't Necessarily…
Is there a mod out there that can move me (well I'm sure there is, but you know what I mean!)?
Ready to be moved …

I love this programme

And I entirely agree about Brendan. I also quite like Darren (I think that's his name)
I can't stand Esther Rantzen, I have to say. I think she may well be off next week. And Diarmuid Gavin is quite something to behold.
To be honest, the stars of the show for me are the dresses and shoes

The dresses, definitely! The one that Natasha was wearing last week was beautiful.
Speaking (typing, whatever) of Natasha - pretty good on the dance floor for a newsreader! I really admire her guts (and don't you love the way Brendan pronounces her name - Nat -ar-sha. Cute!)
Agree about Esther - not my favourite person, and I was quite glad to see Carol go out last night.
Be good to see Denise Lewis progress, I think she looked great last night.

Natasha is a very good dancer, I was really impressed with her in the first series. Can't believe what Julian Clary said about her top this week! I really liked what she was wearing
I've always managed to miss seeing Carol doing any dancing so I can't really comment on how good she was. Denise is certainly very good (although her physique doesn't really work with being elegant!) and I also think Jill is great.

P.S. Why do they ALWAYS wear gold shoes? For example Jill was wearing them with a red dress - I mean, couldn't they find any red dancing shoes?!

Your're right Anna it did look odd but then if the colour is on the dress maybe they think it will distract the judges from looking at her footwork!?
When I started ballroom dancing some years ago a bog standard pair of black dancing shoes cost me £45. However when I then had to have one pair for ballroom, and then a nice high heeled pair for the latin dances it started to cost a fortune. My silver latin ones I think cost £55 but I know if you want them to co-ordinate with an outfit, to have them individually made, costs an absolute fortune. Even my Dave's basic ballroom shoes cost him £60!!! I would love to own loads of different coloured pairs but as yet I've not won the lottery!

Know what you mean about the shoes, I thought that too - almost everyone's seemed to be a kind of goldy bronze colour. Maybe they found a really comfy pair and coulnd't bear to not wear them! I have that with ballet shoes - they're like old friends.
I really felt sorry for Natasha. I know Julian Clary (another JC!) was joking, but she really blushed!!! Not good on live TV.
Saint100 - one dimensional?! Shoes, dresses and Brendan - that's at least three! Go on, put some sequins on, you'll love it...

Life is a bitch some times!!!
Didn't realise that it clashes with X factor. Have been watching it a bit but would rather watch the dancing any day. Did anyone see the 2 part thing on BBc1 called "Bruce goes dancing." I thought it was excellent. He looked back at the origins of dance and how it has evolved today. Fascinating. This last sunday he went to Puerto Rico and Cuba and looked at how Mambo, Rhumba and Cha Cha influenced the salsa, amongst other things. He followed dance jazz clubs in London and breakdancing. I really enjoyed it.

Have to tape it tonight, because I'm off to see Wallace and Gromit at the cinema. Will have to watch the repeat of X Factor like Tracey.
I've started doing ballroom and Latin dancing myself (but literally only been to 3 classes so far). I'm doing a competition for beginners in November, might pick up some tips from this programme! And yay for Jamie being on it!

I missed it last night because I went to see my sister in a play. Who got knocked out this week? I too was surprised that Fiona had been kept in the first week. I think with dancing you've got to be relaxed, act and just go to town. When I used to dance I could get the steps right but I sure as hell couldn't perform and fling my arms about!!!

I'm too uptight and reserved to do that. I think you just need to let go.
Am glad that the programmes back though. It's obviously still very popular, though those judges are very very critical. I guess they just want them to perform to their best. My dance teacher was taught by Len Goodman so I think he's the best judge!!

Just watched Strictly, after having missed for it 2 weeks, and I was amazed at how well the blokes are doing. It's tough leading and I think they're doing extremely well for the short time they've been dancing. I think that Will was hard done to tonight but Zoe really shone. Will keep my eye on her.
Looks like it could well be a male winner this year!

I didn't see much of last night's show as I had to leave for a wedding reception but I did see Patsy's cha cha cha. She still seems to be having trouble in letting herself completely go (though why she would when she's got Anton as a partner!

)
I thought Bill did quite well but I thought it was his hold that let him down last night. Zoe did amazing in her Tango and had great expression. Her posture/hold seemed to go slightly about halfway through but that's as much I can fault her for. Brilliant. Just disappointed I missed the rest and didn't think to record it. What dances did Darren, James and Colin do??

Glad Bill was knocked out last night rather than the lovely Anton Du Beke and Patsy. Don't know what I'd have done without Anton to giggle at. I am feeling rather happy at the moment because me and my partner did really well in the cha cha category of a dancing competition the other day. I'm still not as good as Patsy and Anton though
