Anyone heard of a new film called Paranormal Activity? It's limited release hasn't allowed me to see it yet, but it looks terrifying! For anyone who is into these sorts of things, I recommend you check out the trailer. If anyone has seen it, please post your opinions. (NO SPOILERS PLEASE)

Hi ChisledFromBliss

Thanks for the warm welcome!
Just read that if over 1,000,000 people demand it, the film should be opening nationwide. Last I checked, it was already half way there. I am very excited about seeing this flick, as it has been ages since a movie truly scared me. (The first time I saw The Exorcist, or even for a slightly different kind of fear, American History X.)
Read some more reviews for the film, and honestly have not found one negative thing about the film, even in forum posts! With the exception that in some cases, some folks have complained they couldn't hear the movie well because there were too many screaming audience members! Sounds like a fun, and fightful night.
If the film is released nationwide, I will post my humble opinions as soon as I see it. (For the few that may be interested. Ha.)

The film that I am looking forward to watching is The Imginarium of Doctor Parnassus. This is the film that Heath Ledger, Johnny Depp, Jude law, Colin Farrell I believe all play the same character.

Well, they released the film (Paranormal Activity) in Cincinnati today, and I got to see it.
I URGE anyone who is a fan of fear, who is kind of tired of what most people think is scary (Saw series, etc...) to give this movie a serious try. The fear and dread you get from watching this movie will leave a lasting impression. The actors give tremendous performances, and really engulf you in their predicament.
Filmed in the style of films like "The Blair Witch Project," it's really amazing that the films budget was only $15,000! Thats less than a studio spends a day on a multi-million dollar "blockbuster" that couldn't scare the pants off a porn star. It really doesn't even seem like your watching a movie, but that you are enduring with the young couple who stars in the film.
Trust me, I have nothing invested here. Upon seeing this movie, if you can sleep with the lights on throughout the night without questioning whether or not your alone in the room, then you are a braver person than I. Though I still believe that "The Exorcist" is still the best, and scariest film ever made, this film, too me of course, is a close second. I know I'll never forget it.

This film does look brilliant from the clips I have seen, so I am looking forward to seeing it.

Just checked out the website and it appears it will only be shown in the US. So doubt I'll get to see it being in the UK, shame.

I'd recommend to typical girly films cuz I bought them last week!

"The Proposal" and "Confessions of a Shopaholic" - the latter is hilarious at some points!

"Confessions of a Shopaholic"
I have to agree, if you want to sit and watch a film that doesn't require much thinking then this is a good one. It's a light hearted film and is very funny
I love Hot fuzz too, very funny from start to end, definitely one to watch.

I still have not seen Where the wild things are but have heard that it is amazing. The films that I am totally excited are the following: Brothers, Invictus, Fantistic Mr. Fox, A Serious Man, The Road. The only thing really that I have got to do now is find time to watch all films. What is everyone looking forward to seeing???

Went to see Sherlock Holmes the other day and really didn't know what to think of it. The one thing that really surprised me was the comedic partnering of Jude Law and Robert Downy Jr. Though I must say that the score to the film was nothing but brilliance.

Since "piano" by Campion, I´m a fan of her work, so it´s natural to wannt to see "Bright star", esp. as my soul belongs to that era anyway , and "soul kitchen", a story about a sort of underdog restaurant in Hamburg...by Fatih Akin, a film with a lot of soul (and food!!!haha)

yes, Meryl streep----I do love her....and her new film "it´s complicated" , cried tears of laughter and of sentimental reasons...of course you have to be a fourty-something to go and watch it

.....what a woman, and if I´ll be as graceful as her when I reach her age...(although being stoned sends you back to a childish being ;-) .....you can call me lucky. Thank you, Meryl, there are women like you around....
