laugh.gif Thanks for thinking though biggrin.gif

Oh btw, I just saw the Skeleton Key is out, does anyone know if that's any good? Or shall I choose Elisabeth town or Mr & Mrs Smith? (Although I'm very tempted to rent all three ph34r.gif )
flechesbleues
Mr & Mrs Smith is crap... well, lacking in a substantial plot at least rolleyes.gif
Flick
Okay so worth maybe 4 euros to rent, but not 7. Thanks, that helps biggrin.gif

Havnt seen spiderman 2 but the first wasnt very good. Love Johnny depp films and the new zombie films ie land of the dead and the new dawn of the dead are fabulous!! wink.gif

The Blade Trilogy & Underworld are excellent... going to see Underworld Evolution at the weekend.

I have a 'thing' for vamp flicks at the moment...

K-PAX

Nuff said. See it if you haven't! It's the BEST film.

Might even change my name to 'Prot' by depoll it's that good a movie!

Val
i haven't even heard of it! i'm feeling very deprived of films at the moment. i think i'll watch 'Ocean's Twelve' and 'Mr. and Mrs. Smith' tomorrow if i have time and maybe i'll rent something too.
Mojo
Hey Val,

It's not new or anything. But it was on TV a little while ago! It's got Kevin Spacey in it... he is a great actor.

I've been trying to change my 'Mojo' to Prot but I CANT!

cool.gif
Val
why, what does Prot mean? unsure.gif
btw, contact the admin if you want your name changed wink.gif . he'll send you an automatic email once it changes.

what's the film about?
Mojo
Prot (pronounced Prote) is the central character of K-Pax. Don't really wanna give too much away, as it's so good. He is just found in a train station claiming to be from the planet K-Pax. The cops grab him and stick him in a clinic for the educationally sub-standard (PC term!) where he sets about curing peeps and behaving like an alien. It's really gripping.

See if it's at your video store! I love it cool.gif

Hope you do!

Jo X

(don't think I will change my name though! but thanks for info! this fad will be out of window tomorrow morning)

Oooh, and I have seen the Blues Brothers. I think if i watched it regularly it would give me a stomach ulser. The music is brilliant but the film is a bit thin in places!
Flick
Well I've just watched Elisabethtown, which was very nice, in the category of Crazy/Beautiful. I really loved the music in the movie! (and staring to Orlando isn't bad at all either wink.gif )

And, I also saw The Skeleton Key, which was not as scary as I thought, thought it was quite bad actually. The story was good, the acting was good, but I'd expected a little more tension sad.gif
BostonGirl86
i watched "Corpse Bride" & "50 First Dates" last night

Corpse Bride was better than I expected, funny and cute, didn't know it was a little bit like a musical either, very enjoyable biggrin.gif

50 First Dates was ok but definitely hilarious laugh.gif

Saw Brokeback Mountain the other day which was just beautiful. Such a good film. And yesterday I saw Derailed which was also fantastic but in a completely different way. Really scary but gripping film - if you want to see what Jennifer Aniston can do that isn't Friends or a romantic comedy then watch Derailed! My boyfriend went with me thinking it was a chick flick, couldn't have been more wrong...

I watched Phantom of the Opera the other night - i think its brill, one of my faves now. The singings great but the end is so sad.
smellyfish
I watched 'Something About Mary' - it was a repeat on telly - haven't watched it in years but it still cracked me up. The hair gel scene is such a comedy classic!
Ninny
I saw "Walk the line" at the flicks yesterday....didn't quite grab me as much as I wanted it too. Know that feeling?
Anyways, great acting on Jaoquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon's half, and i still can't believe they did the singing, they were really good!

Had to start laughing when I discovered that Johnny Cash's father was played by Terminator 2/Agent John Dogget, though biggrin.gif
jazzo
I saw "Good Night and Good Luck" (written, directed, and acted in by George Clooney) and quite liked it. Even though it takes place in the 1950s it's very relevant to things happening today. Plus it has some wonderful singing by Dianne Reeves (jazz singer) here and there.

I watched a special about "Walk The Line" on MTV last night... it also showed the scene from the Folsom Prison concert... & I can't believe Joaquin & Reese sang all the songs themselves... they both sound amazing! ohmy.gif

It was a really good insight into the movie & the music recording process... I am hoping to see the movie soon & I am definately going to buy the soundtrack... Joaquin's voice sounds just like Johnny Cash's voice. smile.gif

Mark your calendars! Walt Disney Home Video has officially announced that The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is coming to DVD on Tuesday April 4! biggrin.gif

The single-disc and two-disc Collectors Edition will release on the same day.

The single disc release will have two commentaries (Andrew Adamson and his technical crew, and Andrew Adamson with the kids), a pop up fact track (created in conjunction with the C.S. Lewis estate) and a menu/screen saver with scenes of the production. The two disc set has all that plus a second disc of bonus features, housed in a case that looks like the wardrobe. Disc two’s menu actually lets you walk through the wardrobe as you select extras.

Bonus features on the second disc include:

Cinematic Storytellers
The Children’s Magical Journey
Anatomy of a Scene (the melting river)
Chronicles of a Director
Meet the Creatures of Narnia
Three dimensional map and tour
DVD production
Production footage

ComingSoon.net also has high-res images of the cover art for both editions:

It was cute. I'd probably watch it again. It wasn't too corny or cheesy. (Why are those all food related? laugh.gif)

I watched Fantastic 4 on DVD today and I have to say I really enjoyed it, especially as I did not expect much from the film, but it was actually a pretty good tale!

Final Destination 3 was really good! Very gory tho, a lot more so than the previous ones...some of the deaths are completely horrific. Good horror tho, and I didn't find this one to be as predictable as the last ones when it came to how they were bumped off lol! biggrin.gif

New pic of Brandon & Kate from Superman Returns.. love Brandon's DC shirt.. nice touch! biggrin.gif

Val
i watched 'Elizabethtown'. parts of it were ok and very emotional and well done but other parts i thought were just a bit boring/useless.

and the biggest shock of the film - orlando bloom wasn't wooden ohmy.gif
(a compliment since i thought he was rubbish in Troy)

Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen has been chosen to play the villain to face Daniel Craig in the latest James Bond instalment.

Filming has already commenced on Casino Royale, directed by Martin Campbell, despite the fact that the full cast has not yet been completed.

But today's announcement represents a significant piece of the puzzle as Mikkelsen will play Bond's main foe Le Chiffre.

The announcement comes as something of a surprise as Mikkelsen, despite having appeared in countless Danish films, is still a relative unknown in Hollywood.

His most famous part came via Antoine Fuqua's expensive flop King Arthur but he now has the chance to become an instant household name.

He will however be faced with the unenviable task of following in the footsteps of one of the film industry's all-time greats.

Orson Welles played Le Chiffre in the 1967 spy-spoof star-studded film adaptation of Ian Fleming's novel, also starring Peter Sellers, Ursula Andress and David Niven.

An announcement on the leading lady for the Casino Royale remake has still not been made.

it is rather isn't it! Trying to be even cleverer than Ocean's 11... it doesn't *quite* pull it off in my view, but it's still a good film (just not a great one wink.gif )
