Now, I remember meeting Sam "the Wedge" at Ronnie Scotts, and he definitely wasn't sure what to make of Jamie's fans waiting and wanting to talk and take photos of him.
I suppose they are all a little shy at first wink.gif

Oh, and Rory and Tom have both recently been members of the National Youth Jazz Orchestra - maximum age for that is 25 wink.gif

What a great idea! I'll be seeing him on Friday; think I'll suggest it!

(I can see I've missed a lot being offline for the last day or so...lots of reading - and LAUGHING MY HEAD OFF! - to catch up on!)

Geoff does nothing for me ph34r.gif
really? not even the hips?? ohmy.gif ph34r.gif

You know...Geoff (along with Johnny Depp) is one of the few men over 40 who does anything for me...!!! When I was in my 20s, guys over 40 appeared very exotic and appealing. Now that I've left 40 well behind, mostly they just look...old. The older I get, the younger they appeal to me! (I can see myself at 90, hanging around schoolyards...[shudders])

To be honest... until I had my first step in this forum I thought of 19 years olds as KIDS...

I had my shocked moment concerning age last month. A student asked me, if I could give him some advice, when he wanted to have a career at university. He said to me "You achieved already so much, although you're not much older than me"... I was a bit flattered but tried some understatement saying... "oh, I'm not that young anymore, I'm already 32"... then he looked like this ohmy.gif and said "wow, THAT old already... at least you don't look like it" blink.gif blink.gif

I've never heard of this Paolo Nutini so far, googled a bit and found this
wooow! No use to fall into despair! What's the difference between 27 and 19? Both are definitely too young, but if you're trying to suppress it, your sub-conscious will get you anyway rolleyes.gif So dream on and talk about it - with us wink.gif tongue.gif

Very true. No point trying to censor one's thoughts, I guess - you're right, it just doesn't work. Guess I'll just have to embrace my "filthy old broad" status!

Thanks for the link - what a little hottie that Paolo is - and all kidding aside, extremely talented and poised for such a young guy.

at this wedding reception I was at last night, I was chatting to a 27 year old Irish lad and then a women probably of about 40 yanked him HARD onto the dance floor. He came back looking terrified and I ask him whats up.....he said 'MY GOD SHE WILL EAT ME ALIVE'..........

huh.gif this worried me and the kind of feelings my young little boys have when Im eyeing them up in say 'Starbucks' or Marks and Spencer ph34r.gif Maybe they look at me and think.....OMG, MAN EATER!!!

Actually, if I thought some young fellow was thinking this about me, I'd be delighted! Any way I can get the recognition that I'm NOT some dried-up old husk just because I'm middle-aged...

A few years ago, a delightful young man of 26 (bless him eternally!) told me that as far as he knows, all young men harbor a secret desire to be with an older woman. It would be nice to be able to believe that, but I don't know...seems unlikely to me. I'd be curious to hear the male take on this. (Strictly from a theoretical point of view, of course - not for any practical application! laugh.gif)

But I think I might have to stay away a bit for a time just before Jamie's gig on Friday...might be a bit too overstimulating to be here amongst you lot...I've often had the thought to simply fold him up and put him in my pocket (well, he's small enough!), and I fear the bunch of you just might inspire me to finally do that (don't worry, I'll share!)
