FB, I think you and I should crawl beneath the sofa from shame, but I just discovered that an entire family of fluff is living there. I can't chuck those poor buggers out in the rain, can I? Frankly I just thought I'd leave the cleaning until next week, because I have so much washing to do ... but I think I'll get the hoover out and run a while with it around my flat [biggrin.gif]

Do they look anything like these members of the dustbunny family? [rolleyes]

Jazzo, were you under my sofa too? Didn't see you, but yes they looked just like that (all 50 of them) but slightly more scared [biggrin.gif]

Starbuck

<<< Got myself a cute new avatar, as I am going to be a proper Auntie again! [wub]

Good grief, Jazzo... if my dust bunnies looked like that, I'd move house pretty sharp-ish! [blink] [lol]

jazzieone

I did not know my two hours a day comment would catch so much flack. I was just trying to inspire dear Lawrence.  Usually when I clean I have to first get coffee and then tackle one room at a time.  Or know that someone is coming over soon.  real soon.

I like to get it all done before noon.  Last weekend I gave my kitchen a proper cleaning with moving all the major appliances. Such as the stove and refrigerator.  That made me feel better....  This weekend.  Not to much done.

Maybe tomorrow when my husband and I get up.  I am on vacation and he is home  AGAIN.  He has too many days off.

jazzieone

I can tell myself that the trio is coming to dinner....that will make me clean.

In this case I'd be way too excited to do anything! [lol][rolleyes]

But I have some other exciting news (at least for me): This fabulous Paolo Nutini is gonna play Hamburg again - on May 29, but I've already ordered a ticket - Sunshine told me and we'll go together! Yay!

And for celebrating our 29th anniversary/18th wedding day on Feb 21 we'll go to "The Bar at Buena Vista" (Feb 25) - Looking forward to see those great boys live!

sadie

Oh we'll have a fun week:

Wednesday feb. 21st we'll get out the cake and candles cake with candles for Hobbitlady and hubby!

And on Friday Feb. 23rd everyone is invited at Tenara for my one-year PN-membership celebration. Drinks are on me: if you like a good old pint, cranberry juice (for when it's your time of the month - quote form Jack Nicholson in "The Departed") or something utterly fancy as a pan-galactic gargleblaster: atroi will take care of it. And of course there'll be champagne. We start at 9 pm over here: http://www.jamiecullum.com/forums/22/582524/ShowThread.aspx

evening friends

don't know what is in the air, but I could not sleep either - and when I did I had bizarre dreams - wonder what that is about

today was great - we went into the city and enjoyed 3 parades then I left with friends - the hubbie and kids stayed for another tonight - bacchus - a lovely parade - it is the one that I got smacked in the eye at last year - since it is cold tonight and I didn't want to risk another eye injury, I opted to leave - unfortunatly I was hit at one of the earlier parades - a float had passed and I turned away toward the kids who were standing on ice chests behind me - and a large clump of beads hit across the side of my face including the same eye ! fortunatly I think it is okay  - doesn't feel like another abrassion. last year the doctor was concerned about a detached retna so i am a bit paranoid. besides I have to go to work monday and they are all off and can sleep in - lucky them

I am hoping the littlest comes home in one piece - she had been hit by several large clumps and at high speed before I left - we were with a large group and lots of screaming goes on and there is no problem getting stuff thrown to you, but sometimes it is painful to catch it - especially with your face! there are some rather big men trying to protect her, but alas, they can only do so much

I am enjoying my solitude and have had a great hot shower and now am sipping some tea - so peaceful

tina - sorry to hear you have a cold -just in time for your break  - what a shame - hope it passes soon

and I hope y'all all have better rest tonight

bobleblob

Good morning folks. I must say, I'm utterly proud to be the first one posting in here today [happy.gif] And let's celebrate this with the man we all love and cherish

And this one is just hilarious [lol]

A good day to you all.

Caren

Good morning everyone!

Renee, it's at least good news that your daughter is fine again to see the parades! Hopefully she has dressed up as... lets's say American Football Player.... so she could survive some of her regular accidents.

Jazzione.... one room at a time... that's my motto too - but seeing that I have only two rooms (plus a bathroom that doesn't deserve the title 'room') and a small kitchen, I (or Oliver) should manage to clean it before it looks like it usually looks like... for any reason we don't.

Maria, thanks for the nice welcoming pictures. A praying Jamie in a "hotly Gretchen-shirt" is always welcome. And Geoff anyway (he looks as if he just read the armpit thread).

I'm feeling slightly better - my caugh has erm.... "solved" or how do you say? It's supposed to be an improvement, but makes the whole thing a bit more disgusting [lol]. I also slept not bad this night, but still had bizarre dreams: I made a 3 days trip with my dad to Scotland and at the end I wanted him to go back alone cause I wanted to stay to meet some forumites. When I woke up I still thought "wow, I haven't done anything with my dad for such a long time, why actually not?" And then I remembered that he's dead since 10 years. Weird - how can you forget that somebody is dead? [ohmy.gif]

renee

morning !

another restless night and more bizarre dreams - and this time I had no alcohol to cause that. [unsure]

wonder what this is all about?

anyway - just wanted to
say tina that there are times where I think - oh let me call mom and
tell her this or share about that.. and then I remember I can't - 15
years last week since she died. you would think by now I wouldn't do
that.[ph34r]

Helloooooo, fellow aunties!!! [biggrin.gif]

My friend Tom brought his little brother Archie in again today... but I was busy, so no photo & only time for a quick hello. [sad.gif]

It is Archie's 1st birthday next week, so I am going to buy him a little something... not sure what yet... Baby Gap, here I come!

Off tomorrow, so plenty of shopping time! [biggrin.gif]

Nearly peed myself laughing today... little Archie, burbling a word that distinctly sounded like "BOLLOCKS!" at the top of his voice!!! [:|] [lol]

I am not sure how long Tom would stay my friend if I bought Archie a drum kit!!! [lol] [lol] [lol]

I bought a whole orchestra for my god son as a birthday present. It included drums, flute, tambourine and cymbals. He loved it, the parents not so much.

That reminds me of something: Does the x-wing-fighter still make noise? [ph34r]

Starbuck

I'm not surprised, Maria... I expect their poor ears are still ringing!!! [:S] [lol] [lol] [lol]

I'll probably just get Archie a little shirt or something.. Tom is quite emo, so maybe a cute logo shirt might suit his little brother! [biggrin.gif]

There are some great designs here: http://www.babywit.com/oneliners.html & some on Cafe Press... [lol]

Anita, if you want funny baby t-shirts, you should check out t-shirthell.com. They might be a bit disturbing, but for me they're funny. Like:
Starbuck

Umm... Maria... a BIT disturbing??? [blink]

Oh, I saw a funny one the other day... "What happens at Grandmas stays at Grandmas!" [lol]

renee

love the grandma's one and the backrub one.. not so much on the twin shirt....[unsure]

hope y'all are having a good day -mine is slow... getting stuff done, but would rather be home with the family

I think that's really sweet.  You are obviously still thinking about her, though not dwelling on her death.

*sigh*  It's 4:30pm here and everyone is gone for the day except me.  I threw something in the autoclave so it would be ready for tomorrow (people traveling, need equipment), but that meant I have to wait until 4:45pm.  They all left at 4... my boss even earlier!  And then 3 are leaving for Kentucky tomorrow, another taking the day off for her birthday.  It'll be me and two other people.  I'm gonna be so lonely!  Not to mention bored.

kiwi

Hey there! How are all of you? I had a moment to pop on and thought I'd come a visiting. Kathy, I am loving your banner. I heard part of a speech of his and I really like what I heard. Out of curiosity, who do you think will get the nomination for the Democratic party?

Anything else new going on?

Oh my...You are just like me! At this times, in the place i work, a cardiological centre (im one of the receptionist there)it's a bit boring cause of the summer time schedule (everyone here are still on vacations)that's why at this times I'm just soo bored. a pretty empty schedule. Luckily, here is 19.46 and i'll leave to my house at 20.[biggrin.gif]

Hugs from Buenos Aires.
MoonAndMe

I will.  [lol]  No.  At this point, I'm really not sure.  I don't think H.Clinton has as much support as her camp thinks she does.  (At least according to the number of anti-HC groups on facebook as compared to similar ones for Obama.  She was lucky to have two positive out of every 50.  Obama only had one negative for every 10.)  But I know people are very concerned about Obama's so-called lack of experience.  IMO, he has plenty of experience as well as more than enough ambition.  If you pay close attention, you will hear his name listed as a part of every petition or statement that comes out of Congress.  He is on a good number of committees, and really has the desire to know and learn as much as he can.

If you want, you can list yourself on my.barakobama.com ... a sort of networking group for supporters.  I signed up, so I can be your "friend" there.  It is definitely something geared towards my generation.

Alright, I'm outta here.  I'll be back in like an hour.

kiwi

Yeah, I do want to sign up for that. I have a couple of friends here at work who will want to as well. I really like what I have heard so far.

Alright, I am off to play some soccer. I've joined an indoor league we play once a week in Spokane-last nights game was intense. Oh man! There was some body slamming-I don't think the other team liked losing. We had fun though. I forgot how much I miss playing. We start an outdoor co-ed league in April. Should be fun! Today we play here at the school. Kids play and then us adults kick the ball around some.

Hope all are well.

Smiles!

jazzo
Buster the snugglepup is back home, mom thinks she'll be able to handle things now that it's warming up a bit and didn't want to impose on me anymore.  She went to the orthopedist today, he said it's healing the way it's supposed to and she shouldn't need surgery.  In a month assuming she can get an appointment at the place close to her, she'll start physical therapy.

I know my humour can be dark some times. I like the Grandma-shirt though.

Oh, I have good news. I delivered my portfolio in January, when I graduated. A classmate of mine just told me that I probably have gotten a B on it. That's the next best grade. I'm gonna call school tomorrow to check if it's true, so I'm certain and doesn't jump for you ([wink.gif]) for nothing.

renee

that is great news hillary!

just wanted to say

HAPPY MARDI GRAS!

let the good times roll!

y'all

Lawrence

HAPPY FAT TUESDAY, RENEE!  WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

All news reports say it's been a fantastic success!  That's just great!  Hope you and the girls are having a wonderful time.

Jamie's Hollywood Bowl gig has been confirmed....my piggy bank has a very frightened look on it's face.  He's dropping weight faster than a Weight Watchers spokesmodel!

Today is the first day in quite a while that it's been above freezing.  Looking foward to lingering outdoors.

Fat kisses from your auntie in the Bronx.

Starbuck

Hi Lawrence... so fab you are getting another Jamie gig... [smile.gif]

We have a little visitor... a little mouse that the cat brought into the house... still alive! [:S]

The cat just came waltzing into the house, brought it in in his mouth & plonked it on the floor, as if to say "look what I brought you!" [lol]

The poor little thing was scared rigid, so I put him in one of our old fish tanks while he calmed down a bit... when I am sure the cat is no-where in sight, I will let him back into the garden. [smile.gif]

I put in a rock, some stones, grass & moss in the tank so he can bury if he wants too... but he just seems content sat on the rock, having a look around. [smile.gif]

But the chaotic scenes of me trying to catch the mouse in our kitchen were absolutely hilarious!!! [lol]

That is so funny! I'm going to hope for a show on the east coast while he's in the country. I've got a better shot at that.

jazzieone

You know we will all be at any and all shows on the east coast....now I am happy I work for a school .....SUMMER VACATION..... never looked so good before. This is so much fun to look forward to.  Even if he doesn't come here.....  Just the thoughts of it are fun for now.

Yesterday my husband asked me if I had never gone to the Newport Jazz festival, and seen Jamie, did I think I would be a fan of his......????? I said a very quick...no.  So I should thank him for taking me there...  Jamie definetly puts a smile on my face, as all of you here do, everyday !!!

And I'm still hoping for a show on a European jazz festival *sighs*[rolleyes] - keeps me alive - though my piggy bank has died of hunger long time ago [ph34r]

Hobbitlady

First of all:   HAPPY MARDI GRAS, RENÉE!

Would really love to join you - like Caren I'm absolutely no fan of German Karneval, but yours is probably completely different...

T-shirts: On the Gothic Festival in Summer they had some with I'm d(e)ad on it. Hubby was tempted to buy one, but he  had just bought one with "Siouxie and the Banshees" [lol]

Anita: Did you set this mouse free in the meantime or did it become your new pet - just for the case that you're running out of cat food one day...[tongue.gif]

Dave

Love the animations hobbitlady !!! [biggrin.gif]

Beads are hanging and the masks are on here Renee, Steve, Becky, Beth and Emily !  Lots Of Love from the UK !

Heres to New Orleans !

jazzieone
Dave .... you are too funny.  The Auntie's love you.
Lawrence

Dave,

If it's not too much trouble could I get an 8X10 glossy for my desk at work?  I like to keep my co-workers guessing.

Starbuck

Bettina - I let the mouse go as soon as the cat was out of sight... hopefully, it made it back to it's home in one mousey peice! [biggrin.gif]

So happy today... managed to get tickets to a Smallville/Supernatural convention in May that is advertised as being sold out. [biggrin.gif]

I get to meet Jared Padalecki & Jensen Ackles from Supernatural, and Justin Hartley & Eric Johnson from Smallville. [wub]

jazzo
Thanks Dave, that made my day.[lol]

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  WHAT A GUY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

flechesbleues

Dave, has anyone told you lately that you're ace? I'll tell you again just in case. Fabulous. [biggrin.gif]

Lawrence - it's hard to tell if it's warming up here or not. I think it is, but the trouble is, I come into work with my winter coat and scarf on, but then spend most of the day in the office boiling, even in short sleeves, because the office I'm in at the moment has the full sun all afternoon, it's like a greenhouse [rolleyes] There are 2 blinds (one outside the window, one, sturdier one, inside) but the trouble is, you can't open the window if the inside blind is down. So at the moment I'm opting for outside blind fully down, window fully open... and sweltering. Silly. But hey, at least I'm not cold, that's worse (and more frequent, with over-zealous air-con)

bobleblob
What's the difference between a film and a movie? [huh]
kiwi

Renee, Happy Fat Tuesday! smile.gif I thought of you this morning when the local radio station was playing it's tribute to New Orleans and Fat Tuesday. I hope it has been wonderful!

Dave, your cats don't look amused-cute, but not amused. smile.gif

Anita-did you scream when the cat brought the mouse in? I would have-loudly and then it would have been a mad dash to try and catch it without touching it. I have a whole picture in my mind now.

FB-I have windows like that too. The bummer is I don't have blinds on the outside, but I love the view and the light.

Bobble- I would like to know the answer to that too.

Lawrence-I need some running advice, desperately.

The ensuing chaos was definately a contender for You've Been Framed... absolutely priceless!!! [lol] [lol] [lol]

May I introduce 2 new honourary nephews to the Aunties? I will be meeting these lovely young men in May... [biggrin.gif]

Don't think there is a difference.  In the US, they are most often referred to as movies.  Exceptions include independent films, art-house films, and foreign films... basically anything snooty.  [lol]

Dang!  I completely forgot about my fleur-de-lis pin today!  Oh well, I'll find it and wear it at dinner.

Oh, okay, I see.. Thanks Kathy. I was actually thinking about it when I was on the loo. That is truly the place to sit and wonder about things..
Starbuck

I agree, Maria... some of my best poems & lyrics have been written whilst sat on the loo... [biggrin.gif] [lol]

Let's face it... Elvis died on the loo... that's dedication for you.... uh-huh, thank-you very much! [wink.gif] [lol]
