No one's posting in here today? Is this an unofficial don't-be-online-Sunday?

Everyone British is going to see their mum today! They'll be back tomorow [sleep.gif]

this one didnt, didnt do phone calls either, its abit complicated.... but i've been stuck infront of a comp screen for the last two days flicking between here and the other place, fervent conversation on both sides up until earlier today.......reminds me of the good olde days when IAT and aunties chatted all the time, sometimes about Jamie too, wonder what he makes of all this.........
bobleblob
HL explained it to me. Or, she pointed me in the right direction. So I'm really having a flashback to the good old days, when the forum was all new and fun.
Hobbitlady

Well, as the starter of this thread I'd like to say a last word:

Originally I've planned to give things a bit more time to be sorted out, but now it's about time to put an end to it. Most of the fabulous aunties have already left this place and one of them has just been banned! If that's the new way to deal with conflicts on this board it actually hasn't to do anything with Jamie no more - nothing with open-mindedness and standing for being oneself! So would please somebody close this thread for good? I don't want it to be continued in this place of bad spirit!

Over and Off

Sad day indeed Bettina

been nice chatting with you here .... look forward to chatting with you in other places...

Huge hugs to my banned friend DAVE

Hobbitlady

Yes, chatting will go on for sure! [smile.gif]

So this is not a last farewell for us, but for this thread. But they don't even respect last wishes! They refuse to close it! They can't let this body rest in peace!

MoonAndMe

Then haunt I shall.

After Flick's conversation with Moki last night, I am hoping that there will be some action, and some of the Aunties will stop just haunting, but actually come back ........[unsure] I miss you guys on here [sad.gif]

A thread for the older set

Some time ago Saint100 had started the "If Jamie survives..."-thread in the "Not just the music"-part of PN. It is a discussion about what will happen when Jamie will get older, will we still love him and so on. Everybody who posted there assured to love Jamie forever independent from his age. What else?
But much more interesting was that there was a lot conversation between forumites, who already have reached a slightly higher age, about the special feeling what you have when you're fond of a guy who could be your son It was a very special discussion and I enjoyed it very much, a kind of morbid fun.
As "Not just the music" is not meant for chatting and quite a few of us would like to continue the chat with contemporaries I've decided to open a new thread.
Of course everybody else is invited to post here if you can contribute something to the running conversation, but please don't alienate it with other chat - there are other chat-threads in the neighbourhood.

Well, I start with a question: What do you think Jamie's thinking about older fans waiting for him after a gig? I remember an interview where he said that he likes stalkers as long as they are "young and hot".

Edit: I forgot to mention that I've stolen the title from Jazzione, who created it in "If Jamie survives". So she has deserved the title "His Favourite Auntie #1" NOW and FOREVER!!!
The subtitle was created by Lawrence - thanks!

This thread was formerly called, 'its about time' named after Jamie's song on TS album, it was someones' favourite and one of mine too.
Now that we've had little chats about gigs and Jamie related stuff, i thought it was high time we resurected this thread and get some good olde fashioned girly chat going on. Its currently 201 pages long with probably only a couple of members still present on this board, but that dont matter, it was not exclusive to anyone. Its open to those who feel they are old enough to be an 'aunt/uncle/niece/nephew or just a devoted or should i say, passionate, fan

What do we chat about in here then? I never took part in this one!

I'm thinking at 28 I might be a little young for this topic laugh.gif

OMG - it's along time since this thread was given an airing. Like Phoenix, I am one of the original "Aunties" wink.gif

This thread is for those of us who just feel tremendous pride in what Jamie and his band members have achieved, and continue to do so when we see them perform. The Aunties were definitely over the "Oh, isn't he cute" kind of thing, concentrating discussion more on the music, the appearance etc. ....and not afraid to be critical, where criticism was warranted!

I previously staked my claim for being Tom Richards' Auntie too - what that young man has achieved as a composer and leader of his own 18 piece orchestra in the last 3 years is amazing.. It's a shame that that is "on hold" as he once again tours with Jamie ........ The same goes for Rory and "Fringe Magnetic", although I am very pleased to see that Rory and his band will be performing at the London Jazz Festival this year. smile.gif
Phoenix
just a quick hi. I only remember chatting about life which evolves around gigs, so i guess we talked about how proud we are of that young man.

Re: Rory, I had the pleasure of hearing his work last September, a young woman, Elizabeth? sang for him, she was European, Scandanavian is all i can remember, blond and gorgeous, hope she is on the album and maybe our wee jazz master too.

Signing off but lets keep this thread open, no age limit young or not so, just a load of guys and gals (we have male aunties on PN.Com) chatting and enjoying all that is Mr Cullum's music
Tracey D
I could be an auntie, if my brother has a child anytime soon lol
