No, you don´t, Caren.....[biggrin.gif] ....it´s not that occupied.......

and a filet steak, Dave....very manly !![tongue.gif]

I love the word "crispest"........please repeat that once again for me.....

Caren
How comes that I think Dave will like everything with red wine in it?
atroi

oh but the tuna was marinated in cider.......I can see a variety in his likings......[wink.gif]

Is that a table for two, then, Caren......[wink.gif]

atroi

and now, Sev and danishgirl .......two cappuccinos, with whipped cream and some coffee cream liqueur .....on the house[biggrin.gif]

BTW...Caren....Pitter is a Köbes......

sev

*Atroi makes note for tomorrow: must get Silje´s version of "Bewitched, bothered and bewildered" for tomorrow.....*

Val
QUOTE
eilís, it's much more easy to write your name than you think! we have an extra ´   key. so you press the ´ key and then the i key, et voilà.

oh yes, ireland..... i was in dublin last fall. it was marvellous. i planned the trip myself...my little sister will be staying in ireland for an exchange this year... three terms. one could really be jealous... what i love about the language, it's the "r" [biggrin.gif]

I've always wondered what the ` button was for but now I know! Hmm its a pity they don't have it here. They really should though because my name's Irish and part of the language! There's something on the ` button but I've no idea how to use that either or even access it [rolleyes]

Sev, are you french?

thedanishgirl
QUOTE

Mmmm.. delicious!

you know what, I've been coming here so much, and will probably keep on coming, so you can just go ahead and call me Maja [wink.gif]

atroi

oh, I feel honoured , MAJA,  thank you !

Today it´s filet steak à la Dave...if you have read yesterday´s conversation.......do you want some?

atroi
*Atroi starting to decorate the special table for Caren.......white linen ......flowers........candles............wine glasses *
sev

not the one with that mustard sauce....? anyway, i'm sure there's
red wine in it.  if you can spare one... *g* for me?  i'll
probably be here late that evening..... but one never knows... [wink.gif]

@eilís
no, i'm not french (phew! *gg*... no, just joking [wink.gif] ) but it's a
little game of mine (and atroi's and chan's) writing in various
languages.... now that we're here, we just switched to english, so
there aren't as many languages left....  some time ago, i wanted
to learn irish..... i don't know, is it exactly the same like gaelic?

everywhere i go, i "collect" some new words.... for example "a charaid". is there any word like that in irish?

what
i found sooo cool, in DART, they have poetry competitions. and the best
poems are printed and put on the wall inside DART. there were some real
nice ones.

is there a DART near where you live ?

atroi
Must tell you this quickly...I just saw Cansel, my daughter´s friend coming up our entry and she put a letter into the letterbox for my daughter.....they are so lovely....and that was obviously enough for her (well she could have come in and played with K. ....but no...just the letter)......so sweet.
atroi
dart, sev ???  That´s this funny game which is played AAAAALLLLL over the UK.....where grown-up men throw little arrows onto a thing with circles....[biggrin.gif]
sev
well, the letter has quite a different quality....imagine, that girl
sat there for a long time to write a letter.... naturally, you think
about what you want to say very carefully....... but you're right
atroi, sweet they are indeed....[smile.gif]
sev
nonono, atroi,.... DART is a means of public transport.....like the tram here... hmm... irish rail...
atroi

AAAhhhh !!! I see.....

@sev: and as for languages....our guests haven´t heard Nannok yet.....[wink.gif][lol]

ooohhh..yes, gaelic......*Atroi reminiscing*.....the sound to it is so .....taking......eh......I guess someone could say something about bringing the dust bin outside .....it would be so lovely to my ear in Gaelic.....and I would instantly fall for that person.....

Stavros...one steak for sev aside.....parakalo !!

Dave
QUOTE

dave, that just sounds great  [smile.gif] hm...... i wonder.... you aren't a chef in a restaurant somewhere, are you?

May I recommend an Arbois with your chicken??  An Arbois from Jura /France ??? BTW Stavros did an excellent job with that recipe of yours.....[wink.gif] ...he´s put an awful lot of red wine to the sauce....[wink.gif] ...the greeks......wine is like water to them[lol]

How was your day, Dave ? Feeling better now?  *whispering ...check the post in the upcoming days*

atroi
sorry about the quotes....quite a mess
thedanishgirl

I would love to have a filet steak à la Dave, it sounded delicious, my mouth is already filled with saliva..!

QUOTE
nonono, atroi,.... DART is a means of public transport.....like the tram here... hmm... irish rail...

so the poems will be in the, uhm, public transport? we have that here in DK, well, at least Århus.. my friends and I like to sit and laugh at then in the busses, some of them are just to hilarious! some of them are planted in our memory for ever and we keep on saying them out loud in inapropiate situations, like a party..

atroi

so a delicious filet steak à la Dave for Maja........

hmm....I like the idea of "transporting" poetry in public busses/trams......

apparently Caren doesn´t want that table pour deux anymore......pity.....it looks so lovely........

thedanishgirl
if she doesn't want it, then I'll just take it, it looks lovely..! hope it doesn't matter I'm here alone??
atroi

you know what ?? Maja??   WE will sit on that table....eat some fine food, drink some excellent wine and listen to heartbreaking music.....okay??

Nannok, music please.....

atroi

I just got an email from my friendin Paris......she gave me this by a Mr. Rooney :

google Andy Rooney: women over 40

it´s so good....ah...I already love that man.......[lol] ........pigs[lol]  ....and now I realize this sentence with the pig isn´t in it anyhow......

Anyway......awfully quiet here today....and I´m in the dilemma that I´m having a football appointment this evening.......so Nannok, Pitter and Ruinan...the tenara is all yours !!!! Spoil the few that are coming .....

Nannok, try to speak English......and no insults !!!

Oh je ...das wird noch was.......

that was really a good diner, with good company.. hoped you had been here tonight, but no.. now I'm talking to nannok, but his response to everything i say seems to be an insult? [huh]

atroi

oh Maja, I´m glad you could enjoy the meal....and as for Nannok....the Klingon charme is somewhat strange and one has to get used to it.......but , if he has grumbled a lot then you must sort of take it as a compliment.....[wink.gif]

AND ....my football appointment was excellent....[biggrin.gif] ......my team has won......[biggrin.gif] .........and that´s a cause for celebration.......How about one of my favourite meals : french onion soup with taost /cheese in the oven at the end......überbacken is so hard to explain......[lol]

My...I had a sleepless night.......so sorry for my clumsiness today.....

atroi
*Atroi cleaning the place, listening awfully loud to the red hot chili peppers , *
sev

lol atroi, überbacken.... baked over? *gg* overbaked? *g* coated in? ahh... "au gratin" !!!!

oh yeah, the red hot chili peppers.... something to cheer me up....

and what i need right now is a biiiiiiiiiig mug with black coffee...... you want one, too, atroi dear?

*walks into the kitchen*

*shouting out of the kitchen....
you know what atroi, here's some cake left.....  and i'm soo sorry
i didn't turn up the other night for the filet....  i had an
unexpected visitor...*

atroi

yes......au gratin.......exactly....

Yes, I want a coffee and some cake...need some sugar and fat.......

It´s okay, that you didn´t turn up the other night.....I even had a beautiful table for another guest that didn´t come......[sad.gif] ...Maja and me, we enjoyed it then.....and the filet[wink.gif]

Unexpected guest ??? Tell me more, tell me more......[lol]

sev

*g* atroi... i think you can guess who it was  [tongue.gif]

sounds
like you were singing that song, you know, ..... in the musical
"grease"... there's a song where the girls and boys chat about their
"petits ami(e)s" *g*  and the refrain is "tell me
more..."

atroi
[wink.gif] ....got me, sev !!! Ah I´ve missed those soul-mates.......from way back when......*sigh*......btw, have you noticed my signature.....it´s by....NX
Dave

Could i have a black coffee as well....and some of those little crisp mint chocolates....a selection of magazines and some smooth tunes to ease away the worry of the day..and smiles, lots of smiles.....i notice they always do lots of smiles in this restaurant, thats why its such a cool place to hang out. [smile.gif]

heads for the endearing sofa corner.........

Val

*shakes head* poor andrea has no idea what the DART is hehe!

is there a DART near where you live ?

No its not that much like gaelic. I suppose that some of the words are the same but you could say that about french and english e.g. chaffeur, café [wink.gif] I've never heard of the word 'charaid' .. [unsure] ... is it gaelic?

Are you talking about the DART as in the fast green train? Or something else?!

Val

*eats* I'm staaaaarving [rolleyes]

We're going to have postpone my party/dinner again because of my exams. They've changed my schedule so I have Business next Friday instead of the Wednesday when I was supposed to be FINISHED. Grr now I'm in till Thursday but at least that's loads of time to study for maths and french! So Thurs 15th suit you all?

atroi

Thurs 15th is just fine.......well, Val  ([biggrin.gif] ...I really love that phrase!!)......that´s going to be the best party you have ever seen......our parties are legendary!!!  Right chan, sev??

Magazines?? Dave ??  *Atroi looking astonished* ....which magazines???  And it seems you are somewhat waiting for someone on that sofa.....[wink.gif] ........

No I don´t know DART, Eilís.....but I´m learning here.....

AND : I didn´t know that Irish isn´t gaelic......interesting......maybe you would like to recite some Irish poetry on our little stage one day.....or we´ll try a little singing in Irish......Nannok has the most beautiful voice !!![wink.gif]

*A slightly nervous Atroi is going to do some dusting*

Dave
QUOTE

New Scientist, Time , Jazzwise etc etc...nothing too risque, i can assure you [smile.gif]

yes, im waiting patiently for the comfort i deserve in life, so i close my eyes and dream of all in Life that i have loved, while sipping your finest coffee.

atroi

well, those magazines are fine[wink.gif] ...we don´t want to give FB anything to complain about, right?[wink.gif]

Well, if you don´t think me being too outrageous ...I´ll sit beside you for a while, if I may.....I´m waiting for an important phonecall, you see, and did so yesterday....and somehow I get an awkward feeling that I don´t want to overwhelm me.......does this make any sense to you??

and in anticipation........*atroi putting on the lovely Silje Nergaard*

sev

oh atroi, still that nervous? but i told you...... keep cool [smile.gif] need some coffee?

eilís, hm ok that's interesting.... i didn't know that either...
yes, i suppose it's gaelic. at least it should be scottish *gg* charaid
means "friend" (if i'm not mistaken)

the DART, the train, yes... was it green? i don't remeber... but it goes e.g. from dun laoghaire to dublin...must be...

magazines? where..... *looking for the "national geographic"* they have the most wonderful photos in there...

atroi

trains in Ireland just HAVE to be green !!!!! [biggrin.gif]

You want me to keep cool and at the same time you´re offering me coffee ???[wink.gif]....oh dear !!

BTW....aren´t you supposed to be in school, listening to the teacher who tells you about "demanding and creative English" ?????[lol]

Dave

Trains in Ireland run on Guiness, they have an alcoholic combustion system....but the journies always cool and smooth....

National geographic...yes indeed,!! ...i have their collection of greatest photographs, not to be missed.... please add that to the list for sofa reading atroi.

For dnner tonight  i would love to have a wonderful lobster salad..with the crispest,...( you know you love that word ) [wink.gif] yet a light white wine...A  sauvignon blanc methinks.[smile.gif]

Val

Dave contrary to believe, they don't run on guiness [lol] [lol] [lol]

Ohh I'll be learning the poem 'Níl Aon Ní' for my Irish paper on Tuesday so I'll recite that for you. I'll have a look around the net for it [wink.gif] It's a really nice poem about the beauty of nature in Dún na nGall (known to you in English as Donegal). Ok I've had a look around and can't come up with anything but I know it has to be there somewhere! So 'charaid' is the gaelic for friend ... 'cara' is the Irish for friend here [smile.gif]

Um have you ever seen a DART? [unsure] Its not the prettiest of green colours [rolleyes] I can't even find a picture to prove it hehe.

Val

Oooh I found a picture of the ugly thing!

http://www.cs.toronto.edu/pub/jinchen/Irel.../IrishTrain.JPG

and here's another picture ... not quite sure what happened lol

http://uwstopia.nl/photo/2006/02/ireland/img_3855.normal.jpg

By the way, looking forward to this great party [biggrin.gif]

atroi

OMG,[ohmy.gif] Val...........where is that lush and luscious green gone to???? And no shamrock !!  I´m in continental shock !!!![lol]

Here you go, Dave...a lobster cocktail with the crispest (you really know how to make a woman happy !!![wink.gif] ) Sauvignon blanc.......excellent choice, Mister Gourmet !!!

I, me and myself are very unhappy....no phonecall......and to distract myself.....I´ve invited Renée Fleming....I need some opera  arias.......

I´m looking forward to that Irish poem, Eilís .........

atroi

"cara" is the irish word for friend?? That´s also italian.......chan can explain more about italian words.....

and reminding me of an aria.......*Atroi is listening to O mio babbino caro" sung by our lovely and beautiful Renée.....*
