Pointless Nostalgic > Jamie Cullum > It ain't necessarily jamie!

I have a unusual request that I know is a long shot in getting fulfilled. For those reading this, I offer my thanks and a good story. Read on -

I joined this site about 4 years ago and posted a handful of messages right after I joined.

Jamie was having a concert in Los Angeles, CA in October 2005 as part of the release of Catching Tales. I was fortunate enough to get 2 tickets to the concert which was at the Roxy. The Roxy is not the biggest venue, so tickets were hard to come by.

At the time, I was living in Phoenix, AZ which is about 400 miles from Los Angeles, In my first post (linked below) I mentioned how I needed to find a date who would be willing to drive 400 miles to see a concert by someone she probably had never heard of.

Well another member of PN pointed out there was a girl (SuzyQ) from LA who was looking for a ticket and suggested that I contact her. As it turned out, we had already made contact via Craigslist.com because I had posted an ad on that site. The ad essentially was a 'blind date' ad, SuzyQ replied that she was interested in the ticket, but not a date with me. :-(

We bantered via email for a few days until she found a ticket to the concert on her own, and I found a date. In our last email before the concert (which was still about 10 days away) I said that I would keep an eye out for her and allow her to buy me a drink.

I attended the concert with my date, and she attended it alone. We never saw one another at the show.

The day after the show, after returning to Phoenix, I decided to send her an email to see if she enjoyed the show. She did enjoy it and wrote a review for PN (you can find it by searching SuzyQ's postings).

I enjoyed her emails, and apparently she enjoyed mine, as continued to email each other daily. Then more than daily. Finally, after a few weeks of email we decided to go on a date. I trekked the 400 miles back to LA for a date. . . it was the best date of my life.

Now, 4 years later I'm living in LA. With SuzyQ. We are engaged.

So what's the point of this long post? I'm trying to track down the post in which I tell someone that SuzyQ and I had already made contact. I have thousands of emails between the two of us, as that was the primary means of communication for the first 3.5 years (I was living in Phoenix the whole time and would come out here every other weekend).

That post is one of the few pieces missing in the documentation of our relationship. It would have been mid-October 2005.

I can't find it in the archives, nor does it appear in any of the posts in my history. As a matter of fact, although my account says I have posted 4 times, only one post shows up.

Does anyone know how I could find this post? I think the person who suggested I contact SuzyQ went by the name Funtin'. I can't seem to find her anywhere though.

Any help is appreciated. And thanks for reading this whole post.

Hello,
nice story. If you posted anything in the JCAC thread, Its about time thread or the Aunties thread, all were deleted due tot here size/weight (about 2000 pages each) about two years back, which could account for your posts being 'lost' If you posted outside of those threads, did you change your account? If that doesnt help, as the mods directly as they have more technology than me and and they can talk to the administrater on your behalf.

Funtin' is now called Starbuck and usually posts on the other board

Hello rfinnegan.........Oh I remember the story (bit of an old timer here! lol) and I am soooooo delighted that PN has an engaged couple. What a wonderful story and I am chuffed to hear that you and SuzyQ are still together. (See Jamie, this is what happens....your music draws people together!)

I see you mentioned Funtin'. She's still about but not on this forum. Some time ago now some people set up an unofficial Jamie Cullum forum (www.pointlessnostalgic.com) and she frequents there under a different name but I do have her on my facebook so I'll let her know you've posted here and see if she remembers you both.

I'm so glad I saw this thread. It really put a smile on my face. You'll have no doubt have noticed many changes on this board but everyone here is still Jamie mad!

thanks for popping back here
