Jamie and the band were soooo great!! I can't wait for them to come back to NZ (how about more venues&cities next time???) The show was well worth the trip to Auckland especially to see them... Also well worth the LONG wait and odd "sound-check-while-the-crowd-waits" antics! Bummer that the sound was a bit crap in the beginning with feedback etc.. The warm up act (although very talented) was an odd choice - something livelier would have been better. Also bummer that we were crammed into little seats. I think a better venue would be the Auckland Town Hall with option of audience seated or standing. Personally I'd rather be dancing to Jamie than sitting! Jamie, I love your albums - especially your own songs on the new album. I love your music, I love your style. I couldn't believe how much cooler your music was live! You and the band are great entertainers, so much fun and SOOO talented. PLEASE come back SOON! ;)

Hi, I am writing on my son's behalf He has some limitations, music is not one of them :- ) I am from L.A. married a kiwi 18 yrs. ago and had Michael I have seen alot of entertainers in my life. That show I will never forget, (Michael won't let me)You were so wonderful signing his program would have been enough. But going that extra step to make eye contact and speak to him I'll have to quote Michael now. " he not only talked to me he listened to me" I got to tell him my favorite song and he told his favorite song. "It was awesome" "he's the bomb!"those were michaels words for you. I can say the rest of the world really missed out on something special that night. When we first sat down, I looked around and said my high school Auditorium was bigger than this, Santa Monica. He was like wow are you kidding me? We have followed you since the last time you came through with Twentysomething (not stalking) but watching you on Letterman, Rove, TOTP, etc..You have always come across as a very nice person, but on Sunday night we got the personality and the xfacter that filled the room. You were very engaged the audience which is so important,as I looked around me I could see everyone felt you were personally performing for all of them individually. And that is hard to do but what it takes. Well done. Please stick to small theaters if you can, your charm, talent and gusto would be lost in makeshift rugby grouds etc.. oops were you wanting a short review? too late. A big thumbs up!! to the band they can never be forgotten or underestimated. One word THANK YOU!! I know that's 2 huh? You are one special person that made another special person, Pricelees!!!!! And last but not least that took guts to have people up on stage at the end, The L.A.girl in me was looking for security. Thanks Again, I can't say enough except where are the Auckland pictures? Did you gamble and jump?(Michael question)

I too had the privilege of being at the Auckland gig. We travelled up from Napier and it was well worth the trip. The show was fantastic. Jamie is a natural performer and an outstanding musician. I was particularly impressed with Jamie taking time out (in the middle of the concert) to speak to Michael. At the end of the brief exchange, Jamie said, "It's a pleasure to meet you, Michael" - a humble (and commendable) response I thought. Michael's face, as he returned to his seat, (we were sitting behind them) was a picture. It said it all.... Not only did Jamie and the band make Michael's day - they may the whole audience's. What a show! The acoustics in the theatre were terrific, however the seating was cramped and anytime anyone wanted to leave their seat the whole row had to stand up ( a minor inconvenience). How about coming to Napier next February, Jamie, for the Church Road Winery Jazz in the Park Concert? (a fantastic outdoor event (audience about 7000 usually)with lots of jazz (trad and modern), sunshine, good food and wine!!! It would be worth the trip!!! Keep up the good work Jamie. Hopefully I'll get the opportunity to see your show again when we go 'home' to see the rellies in the UK at Christmas.

This concert was amazing!! A crazy experience of the energy of Jamie's music live....stomping on the piano, dancing on stage.Yet a completely down-to earth experience which you involve the audience all through out the performance. Time just flew by!! Have been listening to your album non-stop since the concert :) Thanks for the awesome show and please do come back soon!

I just posted a review but want to mention a couple of other things about the Auckland show which made it one of the best and most memorable shows I've been to... The show was so spontaneous and fun - Jamie encouraged audience participation and was always doing the unexpected! Including (of course) jumping from the piano and other objects numerous times, but also wandering through the audience doing an impromptu and surprising acoustic song. Inviting the audience on the stage at the end was also a BIG surprise - I can imagine it for a small local band - but a famous international act, no way! How cool of you to trust and accept your fans so easily. I loved the way the band were all part of the show and it wasn't all about the singer. Introducing the band at the start of the show was great to see and bouncing stuff off them throughout the show was great. I'm still surprised today at how different you were live compared to on CD. What an awesome show! Lastly I must mention Jamie's incredibly eclectic style of music which so strongly speaks to and of our generation. Thank you for giving us music to enjoy which includes so much variety. When people ask 'who's Jamie Cullum?' I don't know what to say as he doesn't fit into a genre... Jazz, Funk, ...? But that makes it all the cooler, his music appeals to old and young. Jamie and band - you rock!

Several months of anticipation crammed itself into my stomach - why was I nervous? We were going to see him, not him see us. Waiting is a horrid thing. But well worth it, not only did Jamie have the crowd on the floor but on the stage as well. Apart from one speaker at the back of the stage being shot and the music a little too loud, the night was indeed a magic one. From the brilliance of 'Twentysomething' to the subtltly of 'All at Sea', we were with Jamie all the way, captured, mesmerised, crying for those exquisite music notes (and sobbing for the poor piano). 20/10, please return from the sea.
