OK - attending this show was not a random act - I love Jamie's music. I listen to at least one CD at least once every day. So it stands to reason that I would love his live show. Yet, when I see him in person, I am still completely blown away by the talent of this man and his bandmates. It is like new to me again. It is amazing that after all of the touring these guys have done, they can still bring something fresh to their music. Thanks for a great time! Hurry back!

My girlfriend & I fell in love listening to Jamie. Last night in Atlantic City, we fell in love again. We held each other tight as he sang our song, "What a Difference Day Made." We were about 10 feet from the stage. This guy, I call him a kid, is extremely talented, energetic and resourceful. I am pleased to see that someone as talented as he is doing a lot of standards with a new flare and taking new songs, including his own wonderful compositions, and making them candidates for standards. His band, particularly the drummer was fabulous. I look forward to seeing him again. My girl and I want him to play at our wedding. Any chance?

When I saw Jamie in 2004 at Boston's Avalon club, it was perhaps the best live concert I've ever been to. But there is a new winner: THIS was the best I've ever been to! He played over 2 hours of material that spanned his 3 albums (including a personal fav of mine: "I Wanna Be a Popstar"), and didn't lose a bit of energy through it all. Watching Cullum perform certainly keeps you on your toes, because you never know what he's going to do next (and certainly, neither does some of his band members!) I feel the highlight of the night was the rambunctious "carnival" break down after "London Skies" that had every audience member on their feet clapping along - it was truly exhilerating. To Jamie, Sebastiaan, Geoff, and the rest of the band: thanks for another amazing night - I can't wait for the next one!!

After Saturday's abbreviated and off-beat gig at the jazz fest in Saratoga, THIS gig was more my speed: crowded, noisy; dedicated Jamie fans packed into a small-ish, general-admission standing-only club (with a better-than-average sound system for the type of venue, I have to say). Oh, yeah, the guys were really cooking last night!!! Jamie pulled out all the stops on this one. Some highlights for me: out of nowhere, he threw in an unexpected tune, one which I'd never heard him perform before, the Gershwin standard "But Not for Me," which - OF COURSE - was sheer delicious perfection (cute that afterwards, Jamie remarked that he "[didn't] know why [he] played that one" - I don't know, either, but I'm tickled that he did! It's ALWAYS SO special when Jamie kicks in something totally out of left field like that - and it also serves to showcase what a fine musician he really is, that he can just follow the spark of an impromptu idea like that and run with it, to great effect. More highlights: he performed rather more solo piano numbers than I think I've seen before, and - not at all to take anything away from the band, whom I absolutely adore and respect as fabulous musicians, each and every one - that's a real treat, just a quiet, intimate, solo Jamie, his voice and his piano weaving their inimitable magic. He did an absolutely kick-ass performance of "Seven Nation Army," with the welcome return of the little foot-operated looping device, that was simply smokin'. And Rory got the solo on "Frontin'" this time, and thus the chance to show off his trumpet chops to fine effect, while Jamie also took a piano solo as well - bless him, I'd suggested that he should bring that back at some point, and while I don't pretend that anything I say could be any sort of deciding factor at all, I'm glad he did. And - BIG, BIG highlight here! - they performed "I Want to Be a Pop Star," which, given its near absence from the repertoire, qualifies as another "out of left field" choice. (BTW, I realize I've used that metaphor twice; for the non-Americans, "out of left field" is a baseball reference used to connote something totally unexpected.) So great to hear that one! Another killer moment for me: an extended performance of "Get Your Way," with a slightly darker, less sprightly feel to it on the verses/choruses Jamie repeated. Loved it!!! And before I forget - seems the "Twentysomething run" has been reinstated, at least for now (he'd actually done it the previous day at Saratoga, as well). I'd snagged my favorite standing spot, first row, right at the piano - heaven, as always! The only slight downer to the evening was the venue's very strict "no photos" policy - they absolutely meant it. What can you do. But although I kept seeing "the shot that got away," that was really minor in comparison to the sheer energy, exuberance, and delirious joy of last night's gig. More like that, please, Jamie sweetie!

There are no words to describe how GREAT Jamie's show is. I've been listening to his CD's for about a year now and the show in AC was the first live concert I've been to of his. I was blown away by his talent!!! I was also blown away of not just how talented he is, but how much of an entertainer he is also. It was by far the best concert I've ever been to and will hit this site atleast once a week to check and see if he's back in the area. I recommend him for any age!! Awesome!

I am new to the jazz genera, and stumbled across Jamie when our local paper did an article on him when he appeared at the Kimmel Centre in Philadelphia, this past March. I did not get to make that show, it was already sold out, but I went to his web site, plugged in my headphones at work and listened to the FM radio link on his site and started to immediately love the music Jamie is playing. So when I saw that the tour was coming back again to a city I could make, I was determined to make it to this show at the House of Blues in Atlantic City, NJ, and I was not disappointed. Jamie walked on stage, greeted the audience and immediately launched into ìphotographî for the opener. During the song my friend lean over and said. ì look at him, he is just in a zone playing that pianoî. It was amazing, the concert progressed with Jamie playing most of the familiar songs, and few I never heard before, but I enjoyed much the same. He showed boundless energy working the stage and interacting with the audience in a way I have not seen many musicians do as well as he does. He is an immensely likable guy, with tremendous talent not with just the piano, but the guitar and drums also. It is an evening well spent and you wonít be disappointed.

Does anyone have the setlist from the show? It was my first Jamie Cullum concert and I loved it! I went with one of my best friends and she wasn't sure if I would like it and it was awesome. I love how Jamie mixes jazz, blues, and hip hop to make everything sound so amazing. Jamie and the band are extremely talented and you can tell they love and appreciate music in every song they play! Thanks for a great show!

I saw Jamie Cullum play at The Kimmel Center in March and thought it was one of the greatest concerts I've ever seen. It was a magical show and you could see that Jamie and the band took the opportunity to use the acoustics afforded by the Kimmel Center. One of the highlights of the show..Jamie taking the wireless mike and his sax player and wandering around the audience and singing. The crowd was there to enjoy the music and I know I was mesmerized by the talent and energy of Jamie Cullum. Most of the reviews of the HOB show already posted are about what a great performance and great show. This is true...the show was great, the band is great but the show didn't hold me like it did at the Kimmel Center..and it had nothing to do with Jamie Cullum or his band. They were excellent and I would have had yet another concert to add to my "greatest concerts ever attended" list if it weren't for the venue and crowd. I must be getting old but the show was totally destroyed by this drunk girl in my section who INSISTED on trying to be part of the show. She felt it necessary to yell during every song, stand up in front of everyone, drink held high and trying to dance. At one point, she yelled "I love you Sebastian" and he held one finger up to his lips telling her to be quiet. I wanted to form a posse and run that girl out of there! The crowd (at least in the reserved seatting section) decided to chat through most of the show which I find extremely rude to those around you and especially to the band who is trying to perform. And there were people constantly milling around, with no concern to those around them. I wonder why they were there? I left feeling robbed of the great experience I could have had if the crowd were more sincere about being there and more considerate of others. I was there to hear some great music and enjoy the excellent show that is guaranteed when you purchase a Jamie Cullum ticket. You get crowds like this at a casino venue because the high rollers get comp tickets and don't even know who they are seeing. Extremely frustrating for those of us who are there for the music and want to enjoy every moment of it. I would still, in a second, buy tickets again to see Jamie Cullum perform but I'll keep my fingers crossed for a return to The Kimmel Center or another venue.

i've loved jazz for my entire life. i love the old stuff, and occassionally the new stuff. Jamie Cullum seriously bridges the gap and thoroughly enjoys the music he's playing and makes him an AMAZING performer to see live. I went from maine to see him in atlantic city and let me tell you, it just blew me away. if you ever have an opportunity to see him play live, you will not be disappointed. i encourage everyone out there who even has a remote interest in jazz to see him play, it will build your appreciation of the genre immensely, and more than that, you will just have a great time. take advantage to check him out, you'll be happy you did!

First let me say, we had to settle for seats in the very last row in the nose bleed section (my husband pulled his back out earlier that day and we're too old to stand) =:0 and still it was BEST live performance I think I have ever seen. The energy was off the charts. What a showman, the entire band was awesome. We have 3 of his CD's, listen to them over and over and never get tired. Talent like this comes along once in a lifetime and I just feel so fortunate we got to experience it live!
