Jamie started the show by singing I Get A Kick Out of You, which was exactly how I felt!! IIII..... GET A KICK!!! OUT OF YOU!!!! That WAS my FIRST reaction seeing Jamie's performance at the Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival.. TOTALLY GOT KICKED OUT BY YOU, JAMIE!!! I can't be happier to finally see Jamie performing live in JAKARTA in front of my eyes!!! It didn't take long before we all got carried away by his style of stomping the piano, in which at first the audience was a bit shocked with his style, but then we started stomping the concert hall floor!!! The second song was Get Your Way!! What a perfect song choice to escalate the atmosphere!! The crowd was getting happy with the upbeat of the song. Then, the third song was a nice one, in which, unfortunately, I don't know the title I think the lyric mentioned something about footprints in red? hehe.. It was a nice sweet song.. I noticed that many couples were enjoying it Next, he sang Twenty Something... of course with his style.. I kinda got lost in the song... Coz it's rather hard for me to sing along with this song, hehe... Then, following is Wind Cries Mary... THENNNN... time for one of my fave songs.... What a Diiference a Day Make.... Twenty Four... little hours.... Oh Jamie, the difference if YOU!!! You made my last 24 hours different... The crowd was singing along with Jamie for this song. I just closed my eyes when hearing this song, picturing that Hey.. Jamie actually sang this song for you Dina, for real... in front of your eyes... hehe... it was a very relaxing moment for me. Next was Jamie's beating performance He started beating the piano with his hands, slapped the mic out, and just laughed and put back the mic in place. He beat the piano all around. Then, he started singing acapelly of Sexy Back... then Dontcha?? Helloooo.. (amazingly weird interesting choice of song, but I enjoyed it much) The crowd was giggling when Jamie first said "Dontcha wish your girlfriend was hot like me" Then, the crowd went wild when Jamie said "Dontcha wish your boyfriend was short like me" Oh Jamie, Dear Jamie, I'm sure that it wouldn't be a problem at all.... don't y'all agree? And yes, it took my breath away when he kissed the piano... shhooootttt.... what a lucky piano.... hehe... Then the show continued with Frontin... Oh dear, I couldn't believe that this song was originally a rap song... The genre definitely changed into Jamie's Way... Great song!!! The next song was MY ALL TIME FAVORITE... MIND TRICKS!!!!! Before he sang, he said something like... "I'm gonna sing you one of my song... which was a number one hit.... in Japan" Hahah.. the crowd laughed along... I really, really, really love this song. I wish I could push REPEAT button when he finished this song, hahahah... yea, Dina, keep dreaming After Mind Tricks, Jamie took a guitar, walked to the front mic, and start talking about the sh*t* weather in London. He played the guitar and started singing London Skies... At that time, I just looked at him and thought, so far he showed us that he definitely plays piano extremely well, sings very well, is very creative beating the piano to sing, and plays guitar as well. Do you think Jamie just stopped amazing me right there??? NO.... The next thing he did was carrying a mmm.. two-sided tambora drum??? I think that would be the closest words to describe the musical instrument... He then picked up the drum stick, and started playing the drum.... At first the tune was leading to Sergio Mendes' Mas Que Nada... But I guess it was only the initial drum performance... then Jamie just beat the drum extenstively, which amazed the audience big time!!! He was so powerful beating the drum... then we all laughed cos, he just suddenly throw himself to the floor... as if he passed out or something. hahahaha.... He then of course got up and finished his drum performance. Then, he announced the audience that he was gonna sing his last song... we were alll like screaming WAAAAAAA.... NOOOOOO..... but we all got excited when he started tuning the piano into the song High and Dry.... in which he did a medley with the song Amazing Grace.... When they finished, they walked out of the stage (I wish I could've had a backstage pass), but the crowd started screaming..... MOREEEEEEEEEEEEE............. and they walked back to the stage and Jamie shout "OK, but y'all gotta sing along with me!!" Then he sang These Are The Days.... and closed the show with the song I Got A Girl..... And yes.. yes.. the band members are all great!!! Geoff Gascoyne, the basis; Sebastiaan De Krom, the drumer; Rory Simmons, the trumpeter and guitarist; and the cute saxophonist Tom Richards. It was funny how Jamie introduced them one by one. What I can remember is when introducing Tom Richards, Jamie said something like "This is Tom... He's from Oxford... But don't get fooled... He's not that much a clever..." Hahahha... Later after the performance, I went downstairs to the press room. I could see that the security was very strict. I regretted that I didn't bring my digicam with me, but come to think of it, I couldn't have got any clear picture of Jamie anyway, coz there are so many people around. So, I just enjoyed myself last night, watching his performance, and taping everything in my head Pffiiuuhhhh.... what more can I say about Jamie..... I am speecchhhllleeessss...... Jamie is a great musician and performer... energetic and attractive... And I'm looking forward for chances to be able to see his concert again in the future...
