Jamie's Big Night In
Tuesday 6 December in London. 'Jamie's Big Night In' with Jamie Oliver and Jamie Cullum. The theme is all about spending a great night round at a friend's house (or, enormous marquee!) with comfy sofas, cool lighting, great food and loads of music...
The evening is a fundraiser for two charities: Fifteen Foundation and the Great Ormond Street Hospital children's charity. There will be all sorts happening on the night, starting with a drinks reception then a fantastic dinner and a raffle with some amazingly cool prizes. Jamie will be playing an exclusive live set performing songs from 'Catching Tales' before he goes on tour to promote it. Some top DJs will be providing the late-night disco afterwards so you can party into the small hours as well! More info at www.jamieoliver.com [more...]

Catching Tales US Release
New Album 'Catching Tales' Out October 11th (Verve Forecast)
Jamie Cullum recently finished up a sold out weeklong run at legendary Jazz Club Ronnie Scott's in his adopted London, to praise both rapturous and considered: "Jamie's set for success" raves The Sun, while the Telegraph says "I doubt Ronnie Scott's has seen anything like Cullum before... Cullum tackles the genre with a preciousness and energy that takes no prisoners, using the piano almost as a percussive instrument and taking off on wild chordal interludes that reinterpret his melodies with an invigorating sense of freedom."
"Cullum knows he's a maverick pop artist who has picked up attractive fragments of jazz along the way," says The Guardian. "He plays every show as if nobody's more grateful and amazed to be there than he is, and that bounding enthusiasm has played a big part in his popularity... Cullum looks as if he just wants a good time playing, and it's an infectious ambition - maybe because he doesn't seem all that far ahead of an audience that would like to be doing the same."
A two-million selling Grammy nominee whose breakout album 'Twentysomething' was a worldwide smash last year, the raves come as Cullum prepares for the release of his newest album 'Catching Tales,' out in the U.S. October 11 (Verve Forecast). Recorded between April and June of this year, the album is a showcase for both Cullum's raw energy and insatiable musical creativity -- a set of primarily original material that includes a collaboration with Dan the Automator plus a few choice standards
'Catching Tales' comes on the heels of a remarkable run for Jamie. Highlights range from a perfect four-star review in People to best singer of the year honors in Vanity Fair; from dazzling concert reviews in the New York Times and Variety to raves in Rolling Stone, Esquire, GQ, Interview; from a sweep of major late night shows to slots on the Today Show and Austin City Limits.
Jamie will be back on U.S. stages in the coming months, and will play week-of-release shows at New York's Irving Plaza (October 11) and The Roxy in Los Angeles (October 14). [more...]
