Elton John in this week's Time Out:

"There are some great bands aroundÖ in the mainstream youíve got Jamie Cullum, whoís incredibly talented. Heís that rare artist who has what it takes to go beyond his success here and make it in the US. Heís got that Robbie ënatural entertainerí thing about him. But thankfully, heís not that irritating."

This ties in nicely with the 'One Priceless Night' TV recording for Channel 4 last night where host Paul Gambaccini feted Jamie as 'the new Elton John'.

Music Industry Trust Awards

Jamie was one of the artists to perform at last night's Music Industry Trust Awards honouring Universal Music Group International chairman Lucian Grainge. Jamie, along with the Sugababes performed a version of U2's classic Mysterious Ways. Other artists to perform included Mika, Take That and Razorlight and other artists present on the night included Girls Aloud, Snow Patrol, The Feeling, James Morrison and none other than U2 themselves who presented the Universal Boss with his award.
