6th of July 2006 - European Jazz Prize Nomination
The Austrian Music Office (AMO) is an officially-recognized association established in 1996 by Mathias R¸egg to organize and present Austria's major jazz award: the Hans Koller Preis.
Since 1996, prizes in various categories have been selected by 9 Austrian jury members and have been awarded to outstanding Austrian jazz musicians. The European Jazz Prize is a new category of the Hans Koller Preis established in 2002. Jury members of 23 European countries nominate 23 European musicians and select the European musician of the year who has attracted major attention on a high artistic level in the international jazz field, for the previous year. The Hans Koller Prize is a initiative of the Austrian Government, the City of Vienna, Bank Austria-Creditanstalt (BA-CA), Thomastik Infeld, SKE-Fonds and the Austrian Music Office (AMO).

The Prizes will be awarded on Dec.1st 2006, 8pm at the Viennese Jazzclub Porgy&Bess, the concert by the European Jazz Prize winner will take place on Dec. 2nd 2006, 8pm also at the Porgy&Bess.
