Jamie recently spent a week in New York recording the big band parts for his album, followed by more recording in Los Angeles to record some string parts. Everything is sounding great and he can't wait for all of you to hear it! While in the US, he has even squeezed in some time to learn how to ride a horse! No photos yet though.
On 20th June Jamie flew from LA to Barcelona for his BCJC slot (his side project with brother Ben) at Sonar festival and performed to a 4000-strong crowd. The set also featured Darren Emerson from Underworld.
Jamie's latest gadget is his Tenori-on which is made by Yamaha. Wondering what it is?! Check it out here...
One unfortunate piece of news Jamie received recently was the sudden death of Jazz musician Esbjörn Svensson who died in a diving accident on Saturday June 14th. He was one of the most influential jazz artists in recent history - his band e.s.t became famous for their innovative mix of jazz, contemporary rock and elements of classical music which drew both young and adult audiences to their concerts all over the world. Their albums regularly entered the jazz and the pop charts, achieving numerous awards, and Esbjörn's untimely death is a huge loss to the music world.
